NRR Formula

For a single match:

Team A's Run Rate = (Runs scored by Team A) / (Overs faced by Team A)

Team B's Run Rate = (Runs scored by Team B) / (Overs faced by Team B)

Team A's NRR = Team A's Run Rate - Team B's Run Rate

Team B's NRR = Team B's Run Rate - Team A's Run Rate

For a tournament:

Team's NRR = (Total runs scored / Total overs faced) - (Total runs conceded / Total overs bowled)

Important Rules
  • If a team is all out before their full quota of overs, they are deemed to have faced their full quota.
  • Partial overs are represented in decimal form (e.g., 49.3 overs means 49 complete overs plus 3 balls).
  • For matches decided by Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method, special calculations may apply.
  • NRR can be positive or negative. A positive NRR indicates that a team scores faster than it concedes runs.
